Jack Burton creates the Blackhill in 1977, the first generation of snowboards, thus giving birth to his own brand of snowboard equipment. The mountain...

Burton was founded by Jake Burton Carpenter in 1977; the company specialises in a product line aimed at snowboarders: snowboards, bindings, boots, outerwear, and accessories.snowboards. Burton was inspired by the snurfer invented by Sherman Poppen, two skis stuck together. Burton personally first made snowboards by hand in his garage. He later met Dimitrije Milovich and forged a business partnership. Over the following years, the business grew. Today, the brand makes products for men and women and ships to Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Once their snowboard range was launched and up and running, the brand marque naturally worked on developing a clothing and accessories collection, including a range of rucksachs that are exceptionally sturdy.
