Castañer : espadrille designer since 1776
If the brand Castaner has really only existed in 1927, the espadrille atelier that founded the brand has existed since 1776! Naturalised in 1936 during the civil war, the business was requisitioned to equip the Spanish army. It was in 1960, at the request of Yves Saint Laurent, that Castaner launched their first heeled espadrille, marking their entry into the world of luxury fashion.
