Christian Lacroix, high fashion à la française
Born on 16 May 1951 in Arles, France, Christian Lacroix is one of the biggest names in French luxury. After his studies in art history, he first wanted to become a museum curator but he finished by turning to the world of fashion. He first took classes at Hermès, and he then became the artistic director at Jean Patou for six years. In 1987, he started his own label and he developed his first haute couture collection. Nicknamed "the Colour Designer", he has left his mark on the world of fashion, taking inspiration from different styles and cultures. A style, a name, a designer is born. In the '90s, Christian Lacroix is not only synonymous with haute couture: household goods, dinnerware ... the designer is everywhere! He decided to leave his namesake label in 2010 to take his career more towards design. His label continues year after year, seducing women throughout the world.
